The attack on the U.S.S. Liberty

Some wonder why I am so critical of the Israeli government. This is one of the reasons. To be clear, I do not have issues with the people of Israel, especially those that are survivors of the pre-Israel days and their plight of roaming while being persecuted.

The attack on the USS Liberty remains one of the most controversial and debated incidents in modern military history. On June 8, 1967, during the Six-Day War between Israel and its Arab neighbors, the USS Liberty, a United States Navy technical research ship, was attacked by Israeli air and naval forces off the coast of the Sinai Peninsula in international waters. The attack resulted in the death of 34 crew members and the wounding of 171 others. The circumstances surrounding the attack, including its causes, motivations, and aftermath, continue to be subjects of intense scrutiny and speculation.

The USS Liberty, a converted World War II cargo ship, was equipped with electronic surveillance equipment and was stationed in the eastern Mediterranean Sea to monitor communications during the Arab-Israeli conflict. On the day of the attack, the ship was flying the American flag and clearly marked as a U.S. vessel. Despite this, Israeli aircraft and torpedo boats repeatedly attacked the Liberty for over two hours, subjecting it to strafing runs, napalm bombings, and torpedo strikes.

The Israeli government initially claimed that the attack was a case of mistaken identity, asserting that Israeli forces had misidentified the USS Liberty as an Egyptian vessel. According to Israel, the attack occurred amid the chaos of the Six-Day War, and the Liberty’s presence in the area was not communicated effectively to Israeli forces. However, many skeptics have questioned this explanation, pointing to various factors that cast doubt on the official narrative.

One aspect that has fueled skepticism is the advanced surveillance capabilities of the USS Liberty, which included sophisticated electronic intercept equipment. Some believe that Israel may have attacked the ship to prevent it from intercepting communications or gathering intelligence that could have been damaging to Israel’s war efforts or revealed its military strategies. However, concrete evidence supporting this theory remains elusive.

Furthermore, survivors and witnesses of the attack have reported incidents that seem difficult to reconcile with the idea of mistaken identity. For instance, crew members have described Israeli aircraft flying low and slow over the ship for an extended period before opening fire, as well as machine gunners targeting sailors who attempted to extinguish fires or launch lifeboats. These accounts suggest a deliberate and sustained assault rather than a mere case of misidentification.

In the aftermath of the attack, the United States government launched multiple investigations to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident. The initial inquiries conducted by the U.S. Navy and the CIA concluded that the attack was a tragic case of mistaken identity. However, subsequent investigations, including those by independent researchers and journalists, have raised serious doubts about the validity of this conclusion.

Despite the evidence suggesting that the attack on the USS Liberty may have been intentional, the controversy surrounding the incident persists. Official documents related to the attack remain classified, contributing to speculation and conspiracy theories. The lack of a definitive explanation from the Israeli government has also fueled skepticism and mistrust.

In conclusion, the attack on the USS Liberty stands as a tragic and contentious chapter in the history of U.S.-Israeli relations. While the official explanation points to a case of mistaken identity amid the fog of war, lingering questions and inconsistencies continue to cast doubt on this narrative. The incident serves as a reminder of the complexities and uncertainties of warfare and the importance of seeking truth and accountability in the face of tragedy.

Israel and Palestine: Why I say screw ’em both

When I was in high school, I remember quite vividly watching the evening news one evening when a Palestinian boy had thrown a rock at an Israeli soldier who was in full battle dress uniform. What was the response for that transgression? Well it was quick, the boy was murdered by the solder.
I wanted to know why this boy risked his life like this, so I started to look into how Palestine was stolen by Israel.

Yes, I saw it as being stolen and for many years, most of my life in fact, I viewed the nation of Israel as Palestine.

Pretty recently I was pressed to look more deeply at the Palestine/Israel situation. This time, I went more deeply than I did as a young punk.

My views were also tempered by my military service. Yes, Israel has long been an ally to the United States. (I will NEVER forgive Israel for her attack on the USS Liberty. https://www.usslibertyveterans.org/)

We pour a cubic buttload of money into Israel. For what? Seemingly to have a “friend” in the Middle East.
Now, we give a bunch of money to Palestine as well. Why? Well for humanitarian reasons.

So let’s discuss the situation between the two “nations”. I am using nation for Palestine eventhough they really do not have a nation. They are but a mass of people living on land that their owners permit them to occupy.

Palestine wants a) its land back, b)sovreignty, and c) the elimination of Israel. For most of my life, I thought I understood their plight and shared the view.
Israel wants a) peace and b) per Bebe the elimination of Palestine.

The two sides wish to occupy the same land, yet eliminate the other. This cannot and will not work. They are unable to come to any form of understanding. Now with that said, I still despise the Israeli government for how it behaves, conducts itself, and pushes others.
For Palestine… meh, they have lost their claim to the lands. To the victor go the spoils.
On numerous times they have been offered land, and peace, but they are absolutist and will not accept the deals. When you initiate a war, and you lose land, you also lose the claim to it, legally and morally.

Lets look at the major milestones of their wars:

1948 Arab-Israeli War: Following the declaration of the State of Israel in 1948, neighboring Arab states, including Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq, launched a military intervention in Palestine, which eventually led to the first Arab-Israeli war.

1956 Suez Crisis: Israel, along with France and the United Kingdom, invaded the Sinai Peninsula in response to Egypt’s nationalization of the Suez Canal. – Bad Israel

1967 Six-Day War: Israel launched a preemptive strike against Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, resulting in the occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Sinai Peninsula, and Golan Heights. – Potentially Bad Israel – I was born during this war and I have not studied the points of instigation. This was when Israel brutally attacked a US Navy Science vessel.

1973 Yom Kippur War: Egypt and Syria launched a surprise attack on Israel during the Yom Kippur holiday, aiming to regain territories lost in 1967. – Bad Arabs acting on behalf of Israel.

1982 Lebanon War: Israel invaded Lebanon with the aim of eliminating Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) presence there, leading to a prolonged conflict. Bad Israel

First Intifada (1987-1993): A Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, marked by widespread protests and clashes. Bad Palestine

Second Intifada (2000-2005): A period of intensified Israeli-Palestinian violence, triggered by a visit by Ariel Sharon to the Temple Mount, leading to widespread conflict and incursions on both sides. Both bad.

Gaza War (2008-2009): Israel launched Operation Cast Lead in response to rocket attacks from Gaza, resulting in a large-scale military operation. Gaza got its dick smacked by Israel for its bad act.

Gaza War (2014): Israel launched Operation Protective Edge in response to rocket fire from Gaza and to destroy tunnels used by militants, resulting in a significant escalation of violence. Gaza once again got its dick smacked by Israel for another bad act.

2018-2019 Gaza border protests: Palestinians in Gaza launched mass protests along the Gaza-Israel border, which often led to clashes with Israeli forces. Protest are fine, but Israelis killing unarmed protesters is a party foul.

2021 Israel-Gaza conflict: Intense fighting between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, sparked by tensions in Jerusalem and subsequent rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel. Gaza once again got its smacked silly by Israel for another bad act.

2023 Hamas launches rockets into Israel from Gaza. Israel responds with a brutal pounding and several war crimes because the Israeli government is full of “Don’t give a fuck about what is right or wrong” it is only a war crime if they can play the victim.

In the end where does that leave me and my opinions? Well, My opinions are my own and hold no real value to others I suppose. I do however feel compelled to note as I did early in this post that the Palestinian leadership has brought most of this onto themselves. I predicted at the begingin of this latest action that Netanyahu would go scorched earth on the Palestinians.

The neighboring countries need to open their doors to the Palestinians and take in those refugees. Those refugees need to accept that Palestine no longer exists and hasn’t since 1948. There are likely very few of them that were born in Palestine.

As for Israel, the US needs to defund them and the government officials need to stand trial for their war crimes. Not for genocide either, but everything else. Palestinian is not a genus on the human branch of taxonomy.

For all I care, they could both lose the land and turn it into a UN sanctuary for displaced citizens around the world and those people could remain their as long as they were lawful and peaceful. If they cannot live peacefully, then they can be deported to wherever the hell they came from or whomever would accept them.

A Moment For The Country’s Greatest* President

In today’s installment of “Let’s get some shit straight” we will discuss the Greatest* American President.

It has been quite a week for the Orangatard, err former President T-Rump. His lawyers failed to convince the DOJ to not prosecute their client.

When that failed, Cheeto-Von-Tweeto took to his private social media club to try to sway the narrative that he is an innocent man. While yes, innocent until proven guilty. We have heard the tape and we know better. If he comes away from this without any criminal convictions, it will prove that the justice system is broken and that there truly are two levels of justice in our nation. (Now, I have previously discussed the likelihood of any convictions and why those chances are slim while his cult is alive and well) [article link]

Now let’s get to that big ole asterisk attached to the word greatest, shall we?

That are aspects of Cadet Bonespurs are a moments of greatness:

Greatest at being impeached – 2 times in the same term, double that of any other president

Greatest at being sued – While this number is still rising, it is currently 134 lawsuits. This is nearly three times what #2, 3, and 4 have combined (Obama, George W. Bush, and Clinton).

Greatest at mishandling classified documents entrusted to him – 37 counts related to his being fucking willfully incompetent and possibly selling out our trust.

Greatest violator of his oath – He continually abused the office for bilking the US taxpayers. From making the Secret Service pay elevated rates in his hotels, to installing a helipad at at least one of his businesses. The list of his schemes is too lengthy to go into as a bullet point.

Greatest leader of a murderous nation – The murder rate rose with the highest rate of increase in US history. (Aggravated assaults spiked drastically as well) This as on his inauguration when claimed that “This American carnage stops right here and stops right now”.

Greatest guardian of corporate profit – He loves to help the corporations and screw the little guy.

I will not mourn or miss him in the least when he is gone. I will however be thankful at his passing. Not enjoying his loss of life, but celebrating that his time of causing harm to our nation and potentially the world will be over. Form that point it will be getting his cult followers in check.

Donald Jester Trump

While I would dearly enjoy seeing Trump get what he deserves for believing that he is all that and a party size bag of chips.

While he was the biggest disgrace to ever wedge his fat ass behind the desk in the oval office, have no delusions about any charges that may be brought against him.

Regardless of how compelling the evidence is against him, keep this in mind. His followers are blind to actual justice. They are so diligently wolfing down the tard muffins and chugging the Kool-Aid that they will not see reason. Ration thought has become a lost art form to the GQP. (Please note that many of the true GOP do not suffer this malady. They are still capable of civil discourse.)

When and if charges are ever levelled, Dolt 45 will seek a trial by jury which is certainly his right. This is where our desire for justice will fail. What are the chances that The jury will be made up of 12 people who will honestly listen to the evidence with an open mind? It appears to be statistically improbable that you will not seat at least one trumplican?

When the Short-Fingered Vulgarian gets acquitted, his tiny mind and overinflated ego will perceive that as him being totally vindicated.

For my justice, I suspect will not come until it is my turn at the national urinal. Now if they want to reduce the national debt, they could charge ten bucks per bladder void…

Do you miss the GOP?

Sometimes I wonder what happened to the GOP.

We used to be able to debate the issues and find common ground, or honestly respect one another’s differences and move on.

When did that end? I am not sure, but for my memory, it seemed to happen during the Baby Bush era. While I did not like an evangelist taking the office and not being competent in the role, it was clear that he was doing what he honestly felt was good for the country. At least based on the input that the staff spoon fed him. He seems like a very good man, but we was not a good president. I have more respect for him now than I did while he was in office.

I saw serious streaks of racist belligerence from the GOP all through my life up until the GQP came into power and existence.

Once the GQP took over the GOP, all respect was lost as racism seemed to become acceptable from the Tard Muffin in Chief all the way down to the general people on the street who became emboldened to commit horrible acts.

The GQP committed a heinous act against our nation on January 6th 2021 and initially some the remnants of the GOP peeked out and stood for democracy, but quickly retreated when it was time to follow through. Those that did show integrity were punished for it. Thou shalt not actually do something honest and true before the eyes of the citizens of The United States of America, let alone the rest of the world. You are to keep bowing and telling the imbecilic emperor how wonderful his spray tan looks with his new cloths.

Moving forward to the current election cycle, I have noticed how the GQP had clung to local personalities to run for office. There are many candidates who were local news personalities to scoop of votes out of name and facial recognition, not that they have a clue how the country works. So their anti-quota arguments fall flat if they no longer want the most qualified applicants. What happened to “celebrities need to stay out of politics”?

With how deeply entrenched both sides have gotten, We The People must sit back and watch yet another congress do little to nothing.

With the global economy, and the American part of it along with the fallout of Trump’s poor management, and the pandemic fucking up both administrations, it set the stage for the GQP to brainwash the masses that it was all Biden’s fault. So much of the party will blindly drink what party leadership puts in the Kool-Aid. This brings around many votes that they would not get if the people would take the time to think analytically.

The GQP formed rapidly, how long will it take to come back to being the GOP again so that the congress (and in turn, the country) can start working together again?

The FAA needs to put the flaps down on the telecom industry

So I was watching the news this morning and seeing a bunch of finger pointing over the 5G roll out.
The airline industry is jumping up and down about the telecom industry and vice versa. What a joke.
What is it all about? In a nut shell the telecoms are rolling out their new 5g equipment. They are lighting up towers on new frequencies and the equipment in the airplanes has a sensitivity to those frequencies.
The aviation industry is up in arms over these frequencies and they do not want to fly the affected aircraft into areas where those towers are sitting. It is for our safety. For those aboard the craft as well as those below.
The telecoms in their normal our shit is more important than yours fashion says that the airlines need to take corrective action as a couple of other countries have done.
Well… who is correct? Whose fault is this? Well, I have a thought… how about there being two parties at fault.
The telecoms bought at auction, frequencies that were too close those used by the aviation equipment. Specifically the radio altimeter. This is a technology that has roots well before 5g. They failed to do their homework. understanding wavelengths and propagation is a pretty big part of their business for them to ignore it. I think that they figured that their wallets were more important than people lives.
Who is the other party I am pinning blame on? The FCC. I have not heard anything about them in this today. Of course I have been pretty busy working, so perhaps I missed that conversation. I was only seeing the two sides pointing at one another. Did they not see the potential for hazardous conditions? Is this the same (politicized) FCC leadership that sold us out to stop net neutrality?
The FAA should do whatever it can to protect their equipment, but in the end, it is the transmitting stations responsibility to play nicely with their neighbors. Their harmful interference needs to be curtailed. The telecom providers need to seek a different range of frequencies to deploy their network on. Oh… the equipment that they bought is not build for different frequencies? Well shit, that sucks then. Lives still do not outweigh dollars in a civilized society. Suck it telecoms find new frequencies. Break out your slide rules and figure it out.
Shame on the FCC for allowing this all to fall into place.

Do you have a different take on this? Fire up a comment and let’s discuss it.

The GQP couldn’t even make it look like they cared

This morning the U.S. Senate showed their true colors. They refused to take a stand for democracy and the people that protect it. My own Senator failed to vote and I find that concerning, though I know where she stands and likely had another obligation. It better well have better been important.

I pulled just the nays and not voting. I view the nays and simple fucking cowards that if it were legal, I would love to meet for mutual combat to teach them a lesson on what defending this country really means. For those that did not vote, I understand that some were unable to attend. Where the hell where they? The votes being held by the Senate are very close since the two parties have no clue what diplomacy and negotiation is.

As the Democrats crafted this bill they tried to work with the Republicans. The republicans would whine and cry about some point so the dems would relent and let them have their way. It looked like every last concession was granted. In the end they still could not prove that they had a spine and cared about our nation, people, Constitution… The Friday before we honor those that sacrificed everything, they chose to piss on the graves of our fallen. As a lover of our country and a veteran that served her, I am deeply offended. No, I will NEVER forgive the Nay votes listed below. Nor the will I look favorable on the GQP. Perhaps if the GQP returns to being the GOP and can have respectable and intelligent debates on the points and issues.

As far as I am concerned, those that did not vote are trying to hide. They wish to avoid the tantrum from the former Fuqtard in Chief. They are afraid that the truth will show that they were complicit, or in the least do not want to face the consequences for following the Orangatard even when they knew that it was not in the best interests of our nation and their constituents.

If you find a valid reason that a Senator did not vote, please comment with a source and I will either add the reason as a mitigating circumstance, or add it to their entry showing what kind of slime that they are.

Ending the Filibuster?

There is quite a bit of talk about getting rid of the filibuster. Of course this seems to come up on any change in the party of power in the Senate as the losers start their tantrums. (Yes, both parties) The filibuster has a long history in the U.S. Senate.

However much like all of US politics, religion, societal norms, etc. it has been bastardized. What was once a political protest where the speaker took to the dais just like Jimmy Stuart in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington has evolved. It has become a situation where the dissenting side asks for a cloture vote and if the dominant side cannot get 60+ votes, then the motion is killed.

C’mon you spineless pricks. The filibuster needs to be restored to it’s roots. If you wish to invoke it, you get your half fossilized ass up there are start speaking. If you and your allies do not have the ability to keep the floor, then you lose. It is a very simple concept.

Work is HARD… so do it! If it was easy, it wouldn’t be work, it would be play. We pay you far too much for you to play all day.
