Is Colin Kaepernick Entitled to a Job?

Is anyone else tired of the sad little shit known as Colin Kaepernick?

Kaepernick made a decision to stage a protest while on his employer’s time. That decision had a consequence, he ultimately lost his job and no other team has picked him up.

Does this need collusion? Not really, why would a team owner want the added drama? He is a mediocre player so there is little reason for  team to wish to include him in a team sport.

Don’t get me wrong, he can certainly protest any issue that he wants provided that it is during HIS time. I do not support the method of his protest. I do however support that he has the right to do so.

If an actor chose to take a knee at the start of each day filming, how long would directors put up with it? Would they be forced to cast them for films?

If an ER doc chose to take a knee at any time a patient came to see them, would the hospitals appreciate the quality of care? Should they be saddled with the disruption?

If I were to participate in a protest on the clock, I would expect negative consequences. I would also expect hem to follow me for a while. We know that prospective employers can call previous employers and ask what our rehire status is… it is a fact of work life. If the prospective employer does not feel comfortable with the candidate, they will be apprehensive to hire. why is Kaepernick any different?

Perhaps if Colin were to include a clause in his contract to be a PROFESSIONAL player on game days and any other time that he is representing his team or the league including a significant financial penalty for breech he might find a team will to take him on.

He shit in his bed, now he has another decision, clean it up, or get comfortable in it.

When Protests Evolve Into Riots

We have been seeing far too many incidents where what starts as a peaceful protest, or vigil turn into horrible riots.

I do not know why the mainstream media cannot devlop a damn spine and call the event what it is when it turns. Do they feel that they will be protested, boycotted, or what? If the media outlets had the balls to return to being NEWS agencies again and not ratings fluffballs we may actually listen to and respect them.

Have we gotten to the point where so many people buy into the bullshit of “white privilege”? Has society decided that any given non-white group can riot with immunity?

Even when the outrage is justified, the destruction of your local towns is not. Have pride in yourselves enough to hold peaceful protests. Once that our great leaders would be proud of.

#BlackLivesMatter anyone else seeing this as racist?

We have all seen the tag, the protests, the violence, the anger, but has anyone seen the racism?

When I initially raised the question, I was called a racist.

Why?

Well, I suppose it is based in the realm of “it’s a black thing, you wouldn’t understand”.

Since I am a human, I understand that ALL LIVES matter. It is not about black lives, it is about lives in general.

Race doesn’t matter. They tell us time and time again about the inequality of their particular race (or gender for that matter). For those of us that do not see race as an issue, because we have moved on, or those that make efforts at being color blind see this as garbage.

So we are supposed to believe that black lives matter more than any others? That is racist by the way that I was taught.

We know that racism is only tolerable if it is done by a minority. (see also American Latino Media Arts Awards, Miss Black USA)

After you refresh yourself on the definition… that do you think? Is #BlackLivesMatter racist? Should it be simply #LivesMatter?

rac·ism
ˈrāˌsizəm/

      “a program to combat racism”
synonyms: racial discrimination, racialism, racial prejudice, xenophobia, chauvinism, bigotry, casteism

“Aborigines are the main victims of racism in Australia”

Ferguson, yes I have views too

So the world has been watching to see where this went.

Before I begin, I was not there, nor was I in the grand jury, so I know only what the public knows.

I am in a different camp than Wil Wheaton, and others. I am probably in the minority of Anonymous, as the vocal side is stomping their feet that this was such a travesty.

I do not know what factors told the officer that deadly force was the best reaction.  Perhaps he SHOULD have used a non-lethal.

Am I racist? no, will I be called racist, could be.

We knew that the chance was high that there was going to be trouble either way tonight.  How many riots or destruction has occurred after winning a pro ball game or hockey game? People get overly excited and lose their common sense.

The bottom line is that the grand jury did not see enough to compel ANY of them to put forth charges. Not ONE!

We know from the strong arm robbery shortly before his death, that he was not in his right mind. He may have been kind and gentle normally, but not that day.

Sorry, this was blown way out of proportion, and most of us knew it in August. So much money and time spent. I will not call it it a waste, because our society seemed to feel the need for it to be intense. So be it.

We also knew in August that the masses were no going to accept the outcome.

Now it will go to a civil case where you don’t really have to prove a case. At least not anywhere near as conclusively.

God help those who have been directly impacted; family, friends, the community, even the police…

To those protesting: Please do not rip up your communities…

Pushing the limits of respect

After I matured into a full fledged human being and learned compassion, I learned to treat people with a greater level of respect.

Respect for me is earned, not just given.

I tend to give a person a certain level of respect and what they do with it from there is up to them.

Along comes the Westboro Baptist “Church” spewing unbelievable volumes of hatred. I have expressed that had I not had any family, that it would be very tempting to make the entire family martyrs as one of their “protests”.

The Phelps family has lost their patriarch, Fred Phelps.

While the knew response is one of similar hate, we need to rise above them. I did find it ballsy that they asked fro the world to be respectful when they clearly are not.

Yes, it would be fitting for us to stand in line along the procession holding sign that say things like “No Fred, God doesn’t have f*gs, he only hates you.”

The Phelps family is in pain, just like we have all experienced and will experience again. The loss of a loss one, even when they are estranged, is not easy.

Please consider taking the higher ground and don’t throw hate at them right now. Let’s save our hate for a better issue.

Wait, what?

So the government shutdown has no problem spending money to keep people out of parks and other resources during this shut down… but has no problem with granting a permit to let the damn illegals construct a stage and use the National Mall for a rally/protest to demand amnesty and rights?

What the hell kind of bullshit is this?

Of course with the current illegal loving government, even if there weren’t a shut down, nobody would have the balls to round up the illegals and ship their asses back to their countries of origin.

I find the tactics to force the citizenry to give a shit about the shut down to be stunning. All the various services being blocked that may cost more to block than to allow pedestrian traffic. Why should sections of the open sea be closed to fishing?

Are you really going to tell the Border Patrol to stand down and just permit illegals free flow across the borders?

To me that seems actionable. I find THAT to be grounds for impeachment. Kind of funny coming from a non-tea party member right?

Kind of funny coming from a former Obama supporter. I said years ago, that I would call it like I saw it and if Obama proved to be a problem, I would call him out on it. Welcome to that day…

Mr President, it is becoming more clear that you have some sides of you that SUCK!

No, I do not think I would change my votes if I have the chance as I still think he was the lesser of the evils. Some things were good but the more we see  of his second term, the less I care for him.

Nullification Lives On

The Michigan House of Representatives unanimously voted in favor of House bill 5768. A bill which states that no state employee can assist in any way with the federal government carrying out actions pursuant to section 1021 of the national defense authorization act. An act which authorizes the federal government to detain indefinitely and without cause anyone. The 2012 NDAA reeks of McCarty era politics, now states are standing up and saying NO we are not going back to that dark time.

http://blog.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2012/12/ndaa-nullification-bill-passes-michigan-house-107-0/

Should the federal government be allowed to bypass all due process in pursuit of their assumed enemy?

Are the states right to fight back against this act that would give the federal government absolute authority in detaining citizens?

Government Oppression

At what point does our government slip from a republic to a police state?

There is an argument that during the Bush years it had slid to more of a monarchy (yes, even with Congress in place.)

So where does this question come from? Well this week we had the protest at the Walmart distribution center where the local police brought out an LRAD (Long Range Audio Device) and it was used as a threat against the protesters. LRAD are deployed on cruise and merchant ships to repel pirates. They will damage the ears and make you physically ill. It is my understanding that they can be fatal if used incorrectly (or perhaps I should say in a manner not for crowd dispersing).

While I was reading more about the LRAD, I found that the Chicago police have one and threatened to use it at the G-8/NATO meeting protest. The Pittsburgh police have one and they actually did deploy it against citizens that were protesting the G-20 meeting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV88Ndffr1c You can hear what it sounds like there.  This over-reaction has resulted in lawsuit over the hearing damage to bystanders. LRAD have been provided all over the country for use against citizens.  http://www.infowars.com/lrad-sonic-weapons-to-be-deployed-throughout-america-for-crises/

I also discovered a military field manual that was disturbing as a vet, and a citizen.

http://info.publicintelligence.net/USAMPS-CivilDisturbanceOps.pdf

I still have to finish reading this manual, but to this point, I have to wonder where our government is going.

Before you start the Obama bashing, this manual was put into place in 2006, during Baby Bush’s reign. Of course some blame is to be had, but not stopping it after taking office.

We are seeing the pendulum swing back to the direction of the government and local police departments. Rights are under assault, but our legislators are useless fucks and don’t give a shit. Their short dicked club, is in it for their best interests, not the country’s.

We have to pay attention, speak, and be heard.

Why should our military be planning on killing citizens on us soil?

We know that we found out about their exercises to seize the firearms from citizens if we were to get too uppity about illegal immigrants.  They yielded when it was leaked and changed the exercise. Fuck you, government you work for us. You have gotten too big, you are reaching too far, you are spending too much overseas, hell you are spending too much in general.

You are to protect the citizenry, not make plans to eliminate it should it exercise its rights.

WTF Walmart?

Did anyone pick up on the Walmart strike in Ellwood Illinois?
Anonymous picked up on this very quickly (which was how I found it) and ran with the story.
I do not think that I have ever seen this kind of response to a peaceful protest.
When have we aver seen an LRAD (Long Range Acoustic Device) threatened to be used on protesters? This thing looked like it was straight from the National Guard Amory.
The initial reports were saying that the individuals in full on riot gear were Walmart security, but I threw flags at that as many of the force were wearing the “police” patches on their fronts and backs.
There were members of clergy that participated and were arrested for sitting in the street.
We are seeing more union busting from Walmart in the last few years, as more case of them fucking over the little guy comes to light. Not paying for overtime, not paying for hours period, sexual discrimination, racial discrimination, safety issues…
It is exposing more and more behavior that we do not want our citizens to have to deal with in the workplace.

At what point will people decide that they have had enough of Walmart and start buying from more socially responible organizations?

Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011, 388-3.

This little peice of legislation may be really ugly for those of us who actually care about our rights.

Check it out folks. the Senate passed it unanamously, and the House make short work of it.

How will Obama handle it? My only hope is that SCOTUS will strike it down quickly, if it is signed.
