After this current political storm calms

Regardless of your feelings on the 2016 elections, I think that we have uncovered a hole that is not covered on a constitutional level.

What is the appropriate remedy for a fraudulent election?

We need to have this gap filled. For the sake of argument, let’s say that we discover that a foreign nation was found meddling in our election. and that a candidate and staff was involved. We had to ponder this with the birther movement. I know I contemplated it. What if we found out that the President was not eligible to hold the office?

Considering the damage that can be done by this fraud of a President, what is the best remedy? Yes, we have an impeachment process for high crimes and misdemeanors, but that is just a removal from if the Senate so decrees it.

I think that it should be more serious. I think that the Presidency should be voided. all appointments rescinded, even if they were confirmed by the Senate. It is fruit form the poisonous tree.  Void all executive orders, and any bills that the fraudulent President signed would be placed on hold pending the swearing in of the new president.

The tricky is this… do you install the other Presidential candidate? it seems to be the most fair process. Since the normal path of succession would place the Vice President int he Presidency, this would not work since they are enjoying that same poisoned fruit.

This is not an easy issue to wrestle with. Of course we know that in our current situation we are not going to see any change. This needs to be written now, and once the current administration is out, we can put it forth. I think that after this calms we have a shot seeing both side being able to tackle this objectively. I hope that it would never be used.

How exciting can election night get?

Just before Trump became the presumptive nominee for the GOP, I started putting together a prediction for a four candidate general election.

The expectation was both conventions would be screwed; Clinton would be the Dem nominee, and Cruz on the GOP side after they party pulled some shenanigans.

Now, I said four candidates… yes, Trump and Sanders go independent due to the respective established parties not wanting anything to do with the renegades.

I am not sure how sound either party would be after dismissing the two candidates that has shown themselves as desired byt he masses.

On the Bernie front, we have seen several issues with the Hillary campaign as well as the party itself.

The direction I find most intriguing is that Bernie is really an Independent. So if he broke off, he would likely keep roughly half of the Dems, plus significant numbers of the Independent party (which makes up what 46% of the voter base?) plus the Republicans who will not vote for Trump, nor Hillary. To me it looks like a Bernie night.

This would give us the most exciting election night in my memory.

Now let’s see what happens.

Yeah the election is over

So glad to have the election over with.

Now the short lived season of bitching and moaning.

I know that my selections did well, I think I only had one initiative went the other way on me.

I have not taken the time to look at our predictions to see who was nearest. I know I picked the right horse, but not sure if I made my spread.

Speaking of spread, Giggles and I will be putting a couple of bucks on our teams for the super bowl.  (Seahawks and Da Bears respectively)

Election Day is FINALLY here.

Regardless of your political beliefs, I do hope that you go to the polls today and cast your ballot.

Here in Washington, we vote by mail, but like many I am dropping mine in the box today at my nearest polling place.

This election cycle has gone on far too long. I will be glad to see the hate (hopefully) come to an end. There has been far too much of it over the last 18-20 years.

Some polls show a healthy lead for one candidate, and others make it look like we will be in for a rough ride.

Long night – but the debates are over

So after I watched Da Bears beat Detroit, I watched the debates.

While the first debates was Romney’s, the second one was debatable but appeared to be Obama’s, Last night seemed clear that Romney was taken to school.

Now it is the last push onwards to the polls. That mean we have only a million or two more commercials to endure. We are almost done folks, we can make it!

I will be looking for the bounce polls today. I saw a number tossed out by one of the networks that showed something like a 20 point bounce for Obama, but I have not verified it yet.

We the voters, made it through the conventions.

Now that the conventions are over with (and the tons of money given the the respective hosts for security etc.) do you feel more solidified with your party?

Did you feel that your party’s position was clearly spelled out?

Are things looking better for your candidate over all, or do you feel that the electoral world is still pretty well screwed?

The field has narrowed

Since it looks like Mitt Romney is going to be the Republican candidate and Obama on the Democrat side, without any viable Independent candidates…

I would like to gather up predictions for election day.

Since the political scene is so fluid, I want to address this again the day before the election in case there are changes.

So who is going to win and by what percentage of the popular vote?
