Homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt of the Portland Police Bureau learns he is descended from a line of “guardians” known as “Grimms,” charged with keeping balance between humanity and the mythological creatures (called “Wesen”; however the characters here use a mispronunciation of the German, rendering it like “vessin” instead of “vay-zen”) of the world. Throughout the episodes, he must battle against an assortment of dangerous creatures, with help from his friend Monroe (who is a reformed creature), and his partner Detective Hank Griffin.[3]

Season Two Introduction: (narrated by David Giuntoli)

“ There once was a man who lived his life so strange, it had to be true. Only he could see what no one else can–the darkness inside, the real monster within. And he’s the one who must stop them. This is his calling. This is his duty. This is the life of a Grimm.

      1. Yes, we have been waiting for the point where Hank had to find out for a while. Now that he is in that transition there is room for some great storylines.I think they were doing encore presentations on Fridays of the Monday airing.

    1. Well, my friend, cruel and unusual punishments are only prevented on a Constitutional level from the government. NBC gets to cause us panic attacks etc to their hearts content. Before the weather turns I want to do the Grimm geocache tour. I guess I better hurry.
